So Jalopnik finally posted something I've been waiting all year for! The 991 GTS, which I now want more than a 997 GTS(sorry Rusto). Porsche hasn't ruined it and it looks sexy AF, but that's not the reason it's got me all giddy and such..(had to steal the pics from Jalopnik too)

Take a look at it! What's the most radical change they've made besides widening them sexy hips....

THE REAR AIR VENT IS BACK!! :D

Much more reminiscent of 911s from a time long past..All I can say is..

THANK YOU PORSCHE GODS!!!

Now Porsche, all you have to do now is let that ducktail be an option on the GTS and I'll give you every damn cent I make for like, EVUR!!

The "Rustocar" is specifically defined on Oppositelock as a black on black, manual, base-engined RWD 997.

Not a GTS.

I don't really care about the weight savings...the 911 is no longer the sports car of the Porsche model range unless you go for a GT3. The rest of the 911 line are grand tourers. Might as well go all out and get the Targa, which also happens to be the best looking of the 991's.

Exactly! The 991 is a great commuter. But the smaller 997 is better for AutoX and really twisty tracks.

The only good 991 is the GT3 cause it uses 4 wheel steering to make the 991 feel like a smaller car.

Make the GT3 Manuél and it will be a great 991!

I haven't weighed my car but I've researched it. It *might* be about 3100 or a hair under since it's not heavily optioned, has the lighter 6 speed Manuél over the 7 speed PDK, and has the 3.6Lol engine over the heavier 3.8L

Swapping the power seats for race seats might get it to 3000 lbs

I was a bit off. The 3.6Lol car is 3164 lbs. But I have a couple options. So mine is probably 3280 lbs or so. But put in race buckets and it's probably 3080 lbs or so.

It's a losing battle. I've heard a California in person, so long as Porsche can make their cars sound as good or even better than a California, then I trust them to do me proud, as they've always done.

But yes, I must have an N/A one in the garage at some point. But I'm thinking, maybe the FI ones might not be so bad as we are hoping them to be.

This is my theory: the turbo charged ones will sound a lot better in 10 years

Right now using turbo for power and efficiency is new. In the old days it was for power only. Anything new has kinks. The current 911 Turbo sounds a lot worse than the old 911 Turbos. But eventually I bet they will sound great
